NC MLAs walk-out on Kawa’s arrest

JAMMU, Jan 17: Three Opposition National Conference (NC) members today staged a walkout after they were not satisfied with Government’s reply regarding arrest of Bilal Ahmed Kawa, S/o Ali Mohammed Kawa of Qutubuddin Pora falling under M R Gunj Police Station, Srinagar Kashmir who was arrested by Gujarat ATS & Special Cell Delhi Police on January 10 this year.
The issue was earlier raised in the House by MLA Langate, Engineer Rashid yesterday and later Ali Mohammed Sagar and Mian Altaf of NC also raised this issue in the House and demanded a statement from Government.
Sagar today again raised the issue and wanted a statement from the Government.
As Minister of Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri finished his speech on the grants of his Ministry and members were still demanding a satisfactory  reply from Government on their empowerment, Agriculture Minister,  Ghulam Nabi Lone (Hanjura) stood up and made the statement on the arrest of Kawa.
The Minister informed the House that Bilal Ahmed Kawa S/o Late Ali Mohammed Kawa of Qutubuddin Pora, Ali Kadal Srinagar was arrested by Gujarat ATS and Special Cell Delhi Police at Terminal -3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport on January 10 this year at about 6 pm when he arrived from Srinagar by a Jet Airways flight 9w638.
The Minister said the further details in this regard are being collected by the Government.
However, not satisfied with the reply, Sagar said the news papers carried more details than it. “I am not satisfied with your reply”, he added and staged a walkout.
He was supported by his two party colleagues, Mubarak Gul and Shamima Firdous, who too staged a walkout in protest.
