JAMMU, Nov 8: National Conference (NC) Minority Cell in its meeting here today expressed dismay that the party has not fielded any candidate from the community during the ensuing Assembly elections which has hurt the sentiments of KPs.
The meeting however said that KPs were coming forward in large numbers to enlist themselves as voters and their vote in the elections would be substantial.
The participants expressed resentment that no sitting MLA of the party ever visited the migrant areas except Vijay Bakaya and other leaders of the Cell and took keen interest in the development of these areas.
The meeting however resolved that Cell will work to ensure that Pandits will vote for the NC with the hope that the party after coming to power will provide representation to KPs in Council of Ministers.
An Election Committee was also constituted with Vijay Bakaya as its convener. Its other members included B L Bhat (ex MLC), Anil Dhar, Ramesh Bharti, Bal Krishan Bhat, Amit Koul, Jatin Bhat, Kuldeep Pandita, Comrade Mohan Lal and Ashok Tickoo.
