SRINAGAR, Aug 10: National Conference (NC) general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar today said that the Party believes in constructive opposition to the erroneous policies of the Government to ensure that justice is done to common man at every level.
He said this while addressing a meeting of senior party functionaries and office bearers at Nawa-e-Subha earlier today. Among others senior provincial vice president Muhammad Syed Akhoon, provincial secretary Showkat Mir, women wing president Shameema Firdous, state spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, provincial vice-presidents Kashmir Ahsan Pardesi & Syed Tauqeer, provincial president women wing Sabiya Qadri and provincial spokesperson Ifra Jan were present on occasion.
Addressing the functionaries, Sagar said, “Our people whether they are Kashmiris, Dogras, Gujjars and Paharis, remain deeply attached to their sense of history and to their identity. People’s immense faith in our party leadership Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah is a reckoner of profound disillusionment of people with the policies of ruling dispensation.
“Even the last person living in Doda, Kupwara and Rajouri is fed-up with the hollow outcomes, if any, over the last three democracy-less years of central rule. Our people are beseeching for change. They have set their eyes on NC knowing that we have a well devised people’s agenda and political policy to follow. Our people have long known us as a matrix of our unique identity, our regional pride and our unique cultural individuality,” he said.
Impressing upon functionaries to increase public contact, he said, “People are suffering from different predicaments induced by the long spell of lingering undemocratic rule. It is at this juncture that the role of our worker becomes all more important. We have to shoulder the worries of our people at all levels.”
