JAMMU, Aug 31: Senior National Conference (NC) leader Ch Liaqat Ali addressed public meetings at villages Peeri and Margan in Nagrota Constituency, here today.
Addressing the meetings, Mr Liaqat, while highlighting the new policies of his party, thanked Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for establishing new administrative units, ‘pahari’ reservation, regularization of ReT’s, giving ‘niabat’ status to Peeri and Ujhan, besides installing a grid station and establishing a bridge at Ujhan.
The residents of Peeri while criticizing the working of the sitting MLA said that the roads from Parori, Kotdhera and Mandargala to Peeri are in pathetic condition as the MLA was always busy in fulfilling the needs of his ‘thekedars’ and never cared for development of the roads.
The residents of Margan Panchayat said that the village which the sitting MLA had promised to develop as a model village is in pitiable condition, adding that the village has no road connectivity and no water facility till date.
They demanded establishment of Animal Husbandry unit at an earliest, which they termed as the need of the hour.
Mr Liaqat promised the people that all their problems will be solved, if his party is voted to power.
The meetings among others were attended by Barkat Hussain, Mirza Afzal, Parvaiz Malik, Mirza Khalaq, Khadam, Mirza Tariq, Ch Baag Hussain and Mirza Abdul Rashid.
