NC flays Govt for ignoring Padder

KISHTWAR, July 20: National Conference (NC) today snubbed the BJP-PDP Government over its failure in mitigating the problems faced by the people of Padder and asked BJP leaders to fulfill its promises made with the people of Padder Sub Division during election campaign.
Addressing a party meeting here at Gulabgard (Padder), NC district president, Kishtwar, Tanveer Ahmed Kichloo said that PDP-BJP Government in the State and BJP Government in the Centre have failed to fulfill their promises made by them with the people of Padder added that more than three years has passed since BJP Government comes into power both at Center and State, but Degree College for Padder as was promised by BJP leaders is still a distant dream.
He said that the developmental works started during NC regime had left abandoned midway and no new project has been started in the area by the present dispension. He said that despite remaining conventional vote bank for the BJP since long, the party every time disappointed the people of Padder.
While speaking on the occasion, MLC Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo said that Degree College for Padder and ITI college promised by local MLA remained in speeches and asked BJP leadership to come clean over the issue. He said that during his tenure as MLA in previous Government, he took up the matter with regard to sanctioning of college for Padder with Union Government, but the proposal got delayed and ultimately hanged in balance due to change of guard at State.
He said that his party will continue to raise the demand for opening of Degree College and ITI at Padder. He also slammed the Government for playing delayed tactics towards execution of work on Karthai Power Project in Padder.
Among those who attended the meeting include Janki Nath, district organiser, Kartar Singh, district senior vice president, Dolat Ram, district secretary, SC cell, Gurdesh Singh, youth president, Padder and Sonam Durjay, district secretary, ST cell.
