DODA, July 26: Lambasting opposition National Conference and Congress for trying to hoodwink masses, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) legislator Firdous Tak today said that both the parties have ganged up in view of the lost grounds in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Congress and NC are known for opportunistic politics and they stand exposed before the masses”, Tak said, adding the State of J&K has faced tremendously due to the unholy and self centric alliance between the two parties.
MLC Firdous Tak was addressing party workers here to review the preparations for the ensuing foundation day celebration of the party at district headquarters Doda. He was accompanied by district president, Doda, Shahab-ul-Haq, district president, Kishtwar, Sheikh Nasir Hussain and vice president, Abdul Rehman Kashmiri.
Tak said that the NC and Congress leaderships have the tendency of changing colours like chameleons when they remain in opposition and speak differently when comes to power.
“People of J&K are wise enough and they are well-acquaint with the double standards of the NC which ruled the state for many decades and pushed it to unending troubles. The NC leadership can’t hoodwink the people of the State through rhetoric,” the PDP leader said.
Tak said the recent statement of Farooq Abdullah, wherein he saw the mediation of China and United States in settling Kashmir issue, was aimed at reviving the base of his party which suffered a massive drubbing during the last assembly elections in 2014.
The PDP leader said the remarks of Farooq Abdullah were a clear indication of simmering frustration within the NC leadership due to the growing popularity of the PDP.
He said the ruling PDP-BJP is committed to take the State on the path of development and progress. “Such mischievous and diversionary tactics will not deter us marching on our agenda of restoring peace and prosperity,” Tak added.
