NC, Cong only hope for development: Mir

SRINAGAR, Apr 7: Urging people to vote in favour of coalition candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Minister for Tourism and senior Congress leader, Ghulam Ahmad Mir today said that National Conference and Congress parties are the only hope for development and prosperity of a flourishing Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing series of election rallies at Tral, Kiram Sirhama and Soligoom,  Mir said that the Government has ushered in an era of peace, progress and development in the State while liberal funding by Central Government also helped State’s progress by leaps and bounds. He asserted that Jammu and Kashmir was virtually doomed but Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance brought it out of the mess and created conducive atmosphere where development could take place.
Mir alleged  that PDP in a state of despair and desperation was  trying to mislead the people by spreading false propaganda for its ulterior political motives. He said that growing popularity of the present coalition has induced a sense of desperation and frustration among the cadres of PDP, which has triggered a panic reaction in them and they have started spreading lies and false propaganda.
The Minister exhorted the people to make a conscious use of their vote and be part in decision making at the Centre. He described the ensuing elections battle between communal and secular forces and said that ultimately reason will prevail. He asked the people to reject the negative forces as they have done never before and facilitates the victory of the alliance candidate in a big way.
Senior Congress leaders, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Sardar Chani Singh, Mohammad Anwar Bhat, Anyatulla Rather and  Fayaz Ahmad were among others who addressed and highlighted the programmes and policies of the of the Government.
