KARGIL, Jan 5: Anjuman Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashriya Kargil (AJUIAK) has flayed the administration for imposing “unnecessary” COVID-19 restrictions.
In a press conference here today president AJUIAK, Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi said: “We always supported the administration during COVID-19 pandemic and the public also cooperated with the administration to beat the pandemic which in turn fetched fruitful results.”
He claimed that during lockdown since last year the economy and education both have been affected badly in Ladakh.
“Our organization has always supported all the rational decisions of administration but we will never support any irrational and unnecessary decisions,” Nazir maintained adding that he was surprised to see that the administration has banned tuition centers without any considerable number of COVID cases in the district while schools in other cities outside Ladakh are open.
AJUIAK president further claimed that Losar festival was also celebrated widely without restrictions but the administration has only banned the schools and educational institutions in Kargil on the pretext of COVID pandemic.
He said that entry points of Ladakh should be closed instead of haunting the people and further claimed that there is no major threat of COVID, so there is no logic to ban educational institutions.
Nazir asserted that yesterday in meeting with administration they decided to conduct congregations related to Ayame Fatimiyah and procession also will be held with proper COVID protocols.
He also flayed the administration for clamping night curfew in Kargil.
