JAMMU, Oct 12: Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust is going to organize Navratra festival in the temple complex at Gandhi Nagar from tomorrow.
Former Minister and president of the Trust, Gulchain Singh Charak disclosed that Management Committee of the Trust has made arrangements for the celebration of the Navratra festival commencing from October 13. He said a fancy dress contest for children between 3 and 10 years is being organised and theme will be traditional dresses/ swaroopas of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Besides this, Rangoli contest will also be organised on October 13.
On October 14, Wednesday, the Committee has organised Vandana/ Bhaints programme. Bhajans singing competition will be held on October 15 and there will not be any age bar for this contest. On Friday (Oct 16), there will be dance performance by the school children.
On October 17, dance competition is being organised for which there will not be any age bar. Both males and females can participate. On Sunday, Oct 18, there will be dance performance by school children and on October 19, 20 and 21, there will be `Dandia Raas’ in the Mandir complex from 7 pm to 9 pm. For this there will be free registration in the temple for the participants between 11 am to 5 pm. The Trust members appealed to all the devotees of the temple city to actively participate in the Navratra festival.
