National Lok Adalats held across State

JAMMU, Aug 8: National Lok Adalats were held across the State.
A National Lok Adalat was held in District Court Complex, Jammu under the chairmanship of SK Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Jammu.
Two benches were constituted for conducting the National Lok Adalat. The first bench was headed by Kishore Kumar, Additional Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu and Anoop Kumar, Special Railway Magistrate, Jammu took up 66 cases out of which 5 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 19,10,000 was recovered. The second bench was headed by Ashok Kumar, Additional District Judge (Bank Cases) Jammu and Anjum Ara, Speical Mobile Magistrate (13 FC) Jammu took up 60 cases out of which 53 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 96,43.109 was recovered.
At Rajouri, National Lok Adalat was held in District Court Complex under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Rajouri. Two benches were constituted. The first bench was headed by Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority and assisted by Mehmood Chowdhary, Chief Judicial Magistrate, whereas second bench was headed by Khalil Chowdhary, Additional District and Sessions Judge and Sunil Sangra, Special Mobile Magistrate. A total of 36 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 36,04,746 was settled.
At Kathua, National Lok Adalat (NLA) was held at District Court Complex Kathua under the chairmanship of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Kathua Puneet Gupta, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kathua. 76 cases were settled which ordered payment of Rs 7201892 award money to the claimants.
At Samba, National Lok Adalat was held in District Court Complex under the chairmanship of ML Manhas, Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Principal District and Sessions Judge in collaboration with Ritesh K Dubey, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Sub-Judge). A total of 50 cases were taken up. 4 cases at pre-litigation state were settled, wherein Rs 3.74 lakh was awarded and 5 regular suits were settled wherein Rs 22,20,000 was awarded. A sum of Rs 3,55,678 was recovered on the spot.
At Reasi, National Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of KS Parihar, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal District and Sessions Judge. A total of 167 cases were taken up, out of which 51 cases were settled with an award of Rs 56,41,965.
At Bandipora, National Lok Adalat (NLA) was held under the supervision of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Malik in Bandipora district today. Out of 108 cases, 36 cases were settled amicably. An amount of Rs 12.67 lakh was awarded under Bank cases. Besides this, 307 cases related to other matters were also settled.
At Kargil, National Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kargil, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Tasleem Arif. He was assisted by Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil, Amarjeet Singh Langeh. As many as 14 cases were taken, out of which 7 cases were settled amicably. The cases settled in said Lok Adalat involved an amount of Rs 11,66,512 and an amount of Rs 21,000 was also recovered on spot in bank recovery suits.
