National Human Rights Commission

Sir,
National Human Rights Commission was established  in 1993 for protecting the human rights in India. It is working as watchdog in the Govt functioning and is playing an important role in monitoring human rights violations in India. The Commission is advising the Govt on human rights violation and is working towards furthering human rights awareness. The NHRC is ever vigilant on matters relating to molestation of women or custodial rape. The increasing exploitation of females and their custodial deaths is in high priorities of the Commission besides the cases of torture in police custody. It has been observed that most of those who are victims of custodial brutality belong to sections of society that are poor or disadvantaged. The Commission is deeply involved in efforts to bring to an end violations of human rights resulting in custodial death.
Though Commission takes cognizance of acts on it own or on reports submitted by the affected persons, one hope that it may take further steps to ensure that justice is done to the aggrieved at the earliest, and not much time is involved in the process.
Yours etc…
