JAMMU, July 12: Nat Manch today staged a Dogri play “Desh Di Qurbani” in its ongoing Tuesday Theatre series at Shakti Nagar, near here.
The play was written by Ranjeet Singh and directed by Tarun Sharma. With the presentation of today’s play, Nat Manch has successfully staged 223 shows so far in its ongoing Tuesday Series.
The play was based on the life of a boy who gets distracted from his studies and treads different path to earn money i.e. (he indulges in smuggling of weapons). The father of the boy is a Retired Major and he has high expectations from his younger boy. The elder son of Retired Major is also in Army. He wants to see his younger child also in army uniform. In the beginning, the child is focusing on his target (i.e. To be an Officer in Army) but slowly and slowly he comes in contact with boys having criminal backgrounds and from them he learns to smuggle weapons. By doing all these illegal work, he earns lot of money. Now money becomes his addiction. One day, his father is reading newspaper in which he sees that the youths of the country are distracting from their path and they indulge in many illegal works in order to earn money. He asks his younger son about all this but his son refuses. The father becomes very happy about his future life. In evening his father receives a call from army officials in which they say that your elder child is no more as he has died during an encounter with militants in early morning. While hearing all this, the father goes under depression and he immediately checks the school bag of his younger child and he is totally shocked to see bundle of rupees and lots of weapons inside it. The father slaps his son and blames him that because of his these illegal activities, his elder brother is no more now. However, in the end, the child also feels guilty over himself. The play gives a message to all the parents to keep an eye on the activities of their children in their daily life so that these illegal works come to an end.
Tanveer Dar, Star of Dogri feature film ‘Geetiyan’ was the chief guest on the occasion, who highly appreciated the play and the efforts put-in by artists of Nat manch. Tanveer Dar further said that Tarun Sharma is doing great work through Nat Manch in its ongoing Tuesday Series.
The actors who performed in the play, included Ranjeet Singh, Mohit Sharma, Rishav Salgotra, Nityam Sharma and Saksham Talwar.
