Narula briefs regarding NERPAP

JAMMU, Mar 10: Chief Electoral Officer J&K, Umang Narula today held a press conference regarding National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP) 2015 from Mar 3 to August 15, 2015 launched by Election Commission of India.
While highlighting the objective of the programme,  Mr Narula said that the aim of the programme is  linking and authentication of EPIC data of electors with Aadhar data of UIDAI, corrections of errors or any relevant entry pertaining to electors within 15 days on production of  documentary evidence, improvement of image quality,  obtaining and feeding in the ER database, the mobile and email address of the electors so that periodic information of poll day, revision schedule, deletion/correction notice etc and other facilitation services can be provided to them.
He also said that a nationwide special camp will be organized at  booth levels in all the Assembly Constituencies in the State on April 12, 2015  and thereafter, at least one special camp will be organized every month on any Sunday.
Earlier, Mr Narula also interacted with the representatives of the various political parties regarding the National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP) 2015.
