KATRA, Oct 18: On the fifth day of All India Devotional Song Competition being organized here at Yog Ashram Complex, Narinder Singh from Jammu clinched 1st position, Suriya Gandral from Jammu and Kabul Bukhari from Mumbai shared 2nd position while the 3rd position was claimed by Viva Bharti from Kathua.
The competition is being organized as a part of Navratra Festival by SMVD Shrine Board and Department of J&K Tourism with active support of India News, Mh Shardha, Zee PHH, Zee Anmol, 92.7 Big FM, J&K Bank, Nidesh Builders Pvt Ltd Jammu, District Administ-ration, Katra Municipality and the local host community.
Today’s programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Chetanya Prasad, Director Song & Drama Division, New Delhi, in presence of chairman, Devotional Song Committee, Rakesh Wazir, Manoj Bansal, Deputy Director, Baljeet Kumar Assistant Director, Song & Drama Division, Anil Chandel, SDM Katra, Ashwani Hansa, District Information Officer and many others.
A total of 13 singers participated in the 5th day of competition in which Narinder Singh from Jammu clinched 1st position, Suriya Gandral from Jammu and Kabul Bukhari from Mumbai shared 2nd position whereas 3rd position was clinched by Viva Bharti from Kathua.
The competition was adjudged by panel of experts including Anupama Sharma, Prof of Music and a renowned Dogri Singer, Suraj Singh, a renowned Music Composer and Singer and Pt Subash Ghosh from West Bengal, senior disciple of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan Sahab, the great Saroad Maestro.
On the occasion, Anjusha Sharma, former winner of All India Devotional Song Competition also enthralled the audience by singing a Maa Vaishnodevi bhaint “Tu ghar mere aaja datiye”.
