KATRA, Nov 10: Police today arrested a narcotic smuggler and seized 2 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Katra Police Station led by SDPO (probationer) GH Sheikh under the supervision of ASP Katra Kulbir Singh conducted a raid and arrested a narcotic smuggler, who has been identified as Chattu, son of Nashir Din of village Dodoora, district Reasi.
During search, police recovered two kilograms of poppy straw from his possession meant for supplying in the holy town, he added.
A case under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Katra Police Station and investigation started.
