JAMMU, Jan 28: Jatinder Singh alias Raja son of Nagar Singh alias Nago, both of whom were under trial in Amandeep Singh murder case, was slapped by a witness in the corridor outside the court room at Janipura this morning.
Police said Raja first abused the witness of the murder case and Amandeep’s friend Jaswinder Singh alias Chottu son of Gurbachan Singh of Nanak Nagar when he was being produced in the court in connection with the murder case.
After the abuse Chottu slapped Raja and hit him on his neck.
Police separated both of them. Later, police parties led by SHO Janipura Hillal Azhar rushed to the spot. Senior police officers also reached the spot.
Police took Raja for medical examination and later sent him to jail. A case has been registered at Janipura police station under Section 323 RPC for investigations.
Police said Chottu was absconding and efforts were on to arrest him.
