JAMMU, Apr 3: The well known Kashmiri poetess Santosh Shah Nadan was today presented Khilat-i-Noor the prestigious Award at a seminar on Alamdar-i- Kashmir held in Giyan Chand Hall of Jammu University here.
The seminar was organized by Kashmir Markaz-i-Adab & Saqafat in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Cultural and Languages. The award carries a shawl and a citation. Alamdar-i-Kashmir was also popularly known as Nund Rishi the patron saint of Kashmir.
The seminar was presided over by Dr Aziz Hajni, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Cultural and Languages and Prof Mohammed Zaman Aazurda and Prof Shahab Anayat Malik were the chief guests.
The prominent personalities who attended the seminar from Kashmir included G N Aatish, Dr Gulzar, G N Adfar, Ali Ahsan, Inayat Gul, Showkat Firar and Ghulam Ahmad Makhonoor.
In addition to this the scholars like Farooq Nazki, Prof P N Trisal, Prof R L Shant, Bashir Bhadarwahi and C L Sadhoo were also present on the occasion.
Two papers on the Alamdar-i- Kashmir were presented by Wali Mohammed Aseer and Ali Ahsan. G N Adfar delivered the welcome address while Inayat Gul, general secretary of Kashmir Markaz-i- Adab managed the stage.
