KATHUA, Aug 24: The National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) Peer team visited Govt Degree College for Women Kathua for the first cycle of NAAC Assessment.
The NAAC Peer team was led by the Chairperson, Prof Renu Jain, Member Coordinator Prof Kuldip Kour and Member Dr Binod Kumar.
The Peer Team inspected the college library and its automation, Sports facilities, Browsing Centre and various Clubs/Cells in the college. They also interacted with the parents, alumni, students and all other stakeholders of the college.
A meeting with all members of College IQAC committee was also held in which the working of College IQAC was analysed. Later, a grand Cultural evening ‘Kalotsava’ was organized, in which students presented a beautiful cultural programme depicting the rich cultural heritage of J&K.
The Peer Team members also visited the Canteen, Establishment and Accounts Section of the College and interacted with Non-Teaching Staff members. A discussion with Principal and Coordinator IQAC was also held.
The NAAC Chairperson gave valuable suggestions for further augmentation of quality in the overall development of college and handed over the report to college Principal.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ravinder Kour, Coordinator IQAC. All the HODs, Conveners, NSS Programme Officer, NCC Caretaker, PTI, teaching, non-teaching staff members actively participated in the whole process.
A day earlier on its arrival, NAAC peer team was formally welcomed by the Principal Dr Sangita Nagari, Convener Advisory Committee Ashwani Khajuria, Coordinator IQAC Ravinder Kour along with the staff and students of college.
Principal, delivered a Power Point Presentation in detail about the profile and various criterions of Self Study Report of the College. Peer Team Members interacted with all Heads of Departments and saw the Power Point Presentations of different subjects being taught in the college. Then, they visited all the laboratories of college and inspected the physical facilities available there. They also visited the Dogra Heritage Corner, Botanical Garden, Poly House, Girls Common Room, NCC and NSS room and interacted with the students, NCC Cadets, NCC caretaker Dr Vaishno Devi, NSS volunteers and NSS Program Officer Dr Arun Dev Singh and took feedback about the various activities conducted by them. Peer Team also met the official from University of Jammu, Dr. Rajiv Rattan Sharma, Director CDC and representative from Department of Higher Education.
