KATHUA, July 18: Mystery shrouds the death of a 65 year old farmer whose body was recovered in a hut at his farm by his son late last evening.
He has been identified as Anchal Dass, 65 of village Gangari under jurisdiction of Raj Bagh Police Station. Police said Dass had gone to his farm for work in the morning yesterday and when he did not return up to late in the evening his son Prem Kumar visited the field in his search. He was shocked to see the dead body inside a farm hut bearing some injury marks of a sharp edged weapon.
The son brought the body of his father to his home where the family took it for cremation in the morning today. But meantime police came to know of the matter and a police team headed by SHO Hiranagar reached the village and seized the body. The police took the body for postmortem and later handed over it to the family for cremation. Hiranagar Police has registered a case under Section 302 RPC and started investigation but no arrest was made as yet.
