NEW DELHI, Sept 8: Mentha oil prices softened by 0.21 per cent to Rs 1,218 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced their exposure following negative cues from spot market.
Besides, ample stock positions on higher supplies from producing regions fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October was trading lower by Rs 2.60, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 1,218 per kg in business turnover of 140 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September contracts was down by Rs 2, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 1,203.50 per kg in 442 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants owing to easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly led to decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
