Musical production ‘Duggar Rang Manch’ held at Bishnah

JAMMU, Oct 17: Ministry of Culture, Government of India organized musical production entitled “Duggar Rang Manch” (A production of Music, Dance and Rare Art form of Duggar Pradesh) under the project of Paramjeet Kumar folk Singer/Music Director of the State in association with Citizen Forum Bishnah, Ram Natika Club Nau Gran and Shivalik Ramlila Club Bishnah at Ramlila ground, Nau Gran, Bishnah.
The main objective of the production was promotion of Dogri culture as well as State culture under the direction of Romesh Chander senior fellowship awardee in the field of folk music and indigenous art.
On the occasion, Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president Dogra Sadar Sabha was the chief guest, whereas DK Singh Jamwal Chairman Citizen Forum, Narayan Dutt Sharma president Beopar Mandal Bishnah, Bawa Ditta, Gardhari Lal Sharma and Surya Dev Singh, social activists were guests of honour. Dr GS Charak State president All India Kisan Sabha, and Chairman Co-operative Marketing Society, Vijaypur, was the special guest.
The main attraction of the programme was the performance of the main characters–Lambardars Basant Bayogi and Shammi Dhameer.
The main items of Duggar Culture performed in the programme were Jattar, Gitru, Jagrana, Bhak, Dogri, Punjabi songs, Dogri Dances and Punjabi Sofiana.
The artists/folk parties which participated were Mohan Lal and party, Bishwa Nath and party, Vijay Kumar and party, Meenu Devi and party, Ritu and party, Asha Kesar, Avtar Kour, Raj Kumar, Suman Lata, Prenwa Sharma, Musician Balkari Ram, Kaka, Manto and Subash Chander.
The light and sound were arranged by Sat Paul Sharma and Bros.
In the end, Shivani Disgotra coordinator of the production presented vote of thanks.
