Murder Tape, Condemn Saudi Crown Prince – US Senator

NEW YORK, Dec 7: President Donald Trump must listen to tape of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and hold Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman accountable for the killing, US Senator Dianne Feinstein said in a press release.
“I urge him [Trump] to review all available intelligence, including the audio tape, and forcefully respond,” Feinstein said on Thursday. “This action must be met with the strongest condemnation by our president.” Feinstein also said that Jamal Khashoggi was undoubtedly killed by hit men led by a close aide of the Saudi crown prince and the prince was involved in the crime.
In November, Trump said that he has decided not to listen to the “terrible” audio tape of the murder of Khashoggi inside Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul, but has been fully briefed on its content. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in early November that the recording of the murder of the opposition to Saudi regime journalist had been shared with the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, among others. Later in November, the US Treasury sanctioned 17 Saudi nationals who were allegedly involved in the killing of Khashoggi, including the Saudi crown prince’s former senior aide Saud Al-Qahtani and former Saudi Consul General in Istanbul Mohammed Al-Otaibi. Khashoggi went missing during a visit to the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on October 2. Saudi Arabia initially insisted that Khashoggi left the Consulate unharmed, but later admitted that he was killed and dismembered on the premises. The kingdom has insisted that the killing was a rogue operation in which Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was not involved.
The CIA, however, has reportedly concluded with high level of confidence that the Saudi crown prince was likely directly involved in the killing.
