JAMMU, Nov 29: Police foiled murder plot by arresting two hardcore criminals along with pistol and sharp edged weapon from Darsopur area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police spokesman, based on reliable information, a team from Miran Sahib police station laid a naka near Darsopur and signaled a Baleno car bearing registration number JK02N-8654 to stop for checking.
On seeing the police cops, the driver accelerated the car and tried to escape but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered a Chinese pistol with magazine and sharp edged weapon from the possession of driver and his associate. Both the accused were arrested, who have been identified as Babar Choudhary (driver), son of Mohammad Sayeed of Chak Mohd Yar and Mohammad Ameen alias Babloo of Darsopur.
Both the arrested persons are hardcore criminals and are involved in many criminal cases. During preliminary enquiry, it came to fore that the accused were on their way to eliminate their rivals, but police foiled their bid and arrested them.
A case under FIR Number 173/16 under Section 3/25 and 4/25 Indian Arms Act has been registered against the accused at police station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Pawan Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu, RC Kotwal.
