Murder case in custodial death

Srinagar, Feb 16: Police today registered a murder case under court directions in the alleged custodial death of a man in Kupwara district of North Kashmir last week.
Munsiff Kupwara, Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, directed the police to include Sections 302, 364, 342, 109, 120b RPC in the case filed under FIR number 41/2015 under Sections 223, 224. The FIR was lodged in the alleged custody death of 32-year-old Nazir Ahmad Mughal last week who was arrested on murder charges.
The court recorded the statements of seven witnesses including the wife of the deceased, Naseema Begum.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir, Garib Dass told Excelsior that the police has implemented the court order and added more sections to the existing FIR registered against three cops last week.
Death of Mughal led to protests in Gujjar Pati, Zirhama, Kupwara areas of Kupwara town and its adjoining areas. Police last week arrested three cops who were accompanying the Mughal to hospital.
