SAMBA, Apr 3: A multi-specialty Medical and Health camp was organised at border village Sartian Kalan in Tehsil Rajpura of district Samba on the initiative of Dr Bias Dev of Govt Medical College Jammu.
Dr Bharat Bhusion, Surgeon Specialist, Dr Pooja Bhagat- Gynaecologist, Dr Manish Attri- Child Specialist, Amit Thapa- Surgeon and Dr Shivani Sharma- Eye specialist rendered free services to the needy and poor border area people.
The camp was inaugurated by the veterans of the area, Thodu Ram, Ram Lal and Shanti Devi who all are in their nineties. Local Panchs and DDC member also visited the camp. They felicitated the visiting team of doctors from Jammu.
Over 500 patients reported to the camp from the adjoining villages of Chillari, Mangu Chack, Kullian and Dolian. They were also provided free medicines by the doctors.
A lecture on prevention of various disease like back ache, anemia, gastroenteritis and prevention of various disease were discussed through interactive session with team of doctors.
The local people were extremely happy and thankful to the team of doctors for organising such camp for their benefit since this area is devoid of health care facilities.
It’s pertinent to mention here that Dr Bias Dev, who is Associate Professor (Ortho) in GMC Jammu has organised scores of such camps in rural areas during last ten years.
