JAMMU, Jan 13: Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association (MULBPA) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its President YS Jamwal and flayed the budget presented by Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu in the Assembly.
In the meeting, the participants discussed the budget outcomes with regards to implementation of 7th Pay Commission, enhancement of medical allowance, regularization of daily rated workers and 2 per cent DA installment.
The speakers namely YS Jamwal, President, BD Verma, General Secretary and Advocate BS Jamwal, Spokesperson criticized the budget, presented by the Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu in the State Assembly.
They said that the issues projected above remained unattended, adding that the Government has turned deaf ear towards the plights of employees and pensioners in view of the rising prices of the essential commodities.
“Government through budget served lollipop to the employees and pensioners to wait for April 2018 to meet their demands”, they said, adding the budget is anti-employees and anti-pensioners.
They appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to redress the grievances of the employees and pensioners at the earliest.
Among others present were KG Khajuria, RK Gupta, JR Sharma, ML Gupta, JK Sharma, Indu Bhushan, Tarsem Lal Gupta, Shiv Kumar Sharma, CL Koul, Charan Dass, Bahi-ud-Din, Surinder Singh, Daya Singh, PS Reen, VB Gupta and Balbir Singh Jamwal.
