MULBPA appeals LG to fulfill demands of employees, pensioners

JAMMU, June 22: Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association, Jammu Province has appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to fulfill long pending demands of employees and pensioners of J&K Union Territory.
The appeal was made during a meeting of the Association, convened here today under the chairmanship of S Attar Singh, Sr Vice-president to discuss the issues and demands of the pensioners.
K G Khajuria, advisor and B D Verma, general secretary of the Association, strongly criticized the UT administration for not addressing the long pending demands with regard to enhancement of Medical Allowance even as all other States and UT are disbursing Rs 1000 Medical Allowance to their employees from the date of implementation of 7th Pay Commission.
The Association also demanded release of the Dearness Allowance installments, which stand freezed by the Finance Department of Central Government since January 2020 to June 30, 2021.
The Association members also expressed their dismay over the not fulfilling the Government assurances to Daily Wagers, Contractual, NHM employees for their regularization and jobs to educated unemployed youth. The Lt Governor Manoj Sinha should fulfill the Government promises at the earliest to avoid further delay, they added.
