JAMMU, Apr 8: Former Minister and JKPCC Vice President, Mula Ram today narrated the benefits of Congress manifesto, particularly NYAY through which the poor have been promised Rs 72,000 a year.
While addressing an election campaign rally at Marjali and Kangral in Raipur Domana Assembly segment in favour of Raman Bhalla, Congress candidate for Jammu Poonch constituency, Mula Ram threw light on the NYAY scheme conceptualized by the AICC Precedent Rahul Gandhi with an aim to empower the poor by guaranteeing minimum income of Rs 72,000 per annum if the Congress was voted to power.
Expressing concern over the derailed developmental scenario in the State, the former Minister said that those who indulged in incessant chest thumping in the name of development stood fully exposed before the masses. The people had recognized their real face and character during the last more than four and five years and would give them a befitting reply at the hustings for having betrayed them, he added. He asked the people of Raipur Domana constituency to support Congress candidates in the Parliamentary elections.
Referring to the dilapidated condition of rural roads in the constituency, DCC Rural President, Hari Singh Chib asserted that the BJP has been failed to provide basic amenities to the people of the State. He condemned non-serious approach of the previous BJP regime in getting the road infrastructure of the State back on track.
Chib stated that BJP has miserably failed to do anything good for people of State except exploiting them for vested political interests. He claimed that BJP has lost the ground due to its anti-people parties.
Seeking support for Congress candidate, Chib asserted that the Congress Party is committed to the equitable development of all regions of the State and it always stood for these principles in politics and never compromised these core values for the sake of power.
Pavitar Singh, Chaggar Singh, Chanchal Singh, Ravi Sharma, Vakil Chand, Charan Dass, Sunny Choudhary, Raman Kumar, Bunty Singh and Balkar Singh were also present.
