POONCH, July 7: Mughal Road, connecting Kashmir valley with Rajouri-Poonch districts was blocked today for about five hours, after land slides near Pir Ki Gali today.
Official sources said that the after rain in the area, land slide took place near Ratta Chhamb, near Pir Ki Galli on Poonch side of the Mughal Road at around 9.30 am on Friday. With this, the road was blocked and the movement of vehicles stalled.
SP Rural, Jammu Vinay Kumar said that road was restored at around 2 pm and the stranded vehicles were cleared. He said infact, land slide took place at two different places on the Mughal Road today at Ratta Chhamb and Dogrian. The machines were pressed into service and both the slides were cleared in the afternoon. All the stranded vehicles were cleared and the road was through for the movement of vehicles now, the SP said.
