KISHTWAR, Mar 1: Asserting that vision envisaged by the late Party Patron and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will remain as a guiding code for People’s Democratic Party, Member Legislative Council Firdous Tak today said that the party will continue to strive for peace, prosperity and development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Interacting with various deputations, who called on him here today, the legislator said that the PDP was not only a political party but a movement against corruption, nepotism and mis-governance in Jammu and Kashmir. “PDP under the leadership of its patron late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed gave a new dimension to the State politics bringing accountability, transparency and public service, which otherwise were unknown in the power corridors of State”, he said.
Tak said that it was the vision of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to transform State into an island of peace and prosperity. “He not only envisaged a plan but even worked wholeheartedly for its fulfillment”, he said, adding that till his last breath Mufti Sayeed kept working for the people.
Unfortunately the State of Jammu and Kashmir has suffered badly due to the anti-people policies of National Conference and Congress, he said adding, “Mufti Sayeed brought peace and prosperity in the State after taking reign of power in 2002 but the achievements in all the sectors were reversed again by the NC-Congress combine after 2008.
“During the six years of NC-Congress rule, the State witnessed a virtual dismantling of all the institutions of governance with politico-contractor mafia ruling the roost and looting the exchequer during that dark era”, he said, adding that party’s Governments in 2002 and again in 2015 pioneered ground-breaking initiatives on political and developmental front.
