JAMMU, May 29: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) activists here today staged a protest demonstration against the PHE and PDD departments for acute shortage of drinking water and long power cuts.
The protest was led by Sunil Dimple, MSJK president and he claimed that in this scorching summer days most of the transformers and power cables are burnt and no replacement has been made due to which the aged persons, patients, children and the women are spending sleepless nights.
The MSJK leader said while the tourists are visiting Jammu, all the water coolers installed in Jammu city markets are not functioning.
He demanded the start of work on Akhnoor Chenab Water Supply project in Jammu city.
Dimple further said that the unscheduled power cuts in the hundred per cent metered areas have thrown normal life out of gear.
Ashok Sharma, Partap Singh, Gopal Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Rajinder, Tarsem, Ashok Sharma and many others were also present in the protest.
