JAMMU, May 20: Movement for Peace, Equality and Justice (MPEJ) today appealed the Commissioner Secretary of School Education Department to intervene personally for issuing extension of affiliation order to all old schools pending for want of NOC from the Traffic Department.
“These old schools are functioning smoothly here for the last more than 10 years that too without any vehicles and creating no traffic problems. The school managements have already submitted the requisite affidavits duly attested by the First Class Magistrate to the J&K Board of School Education,” said MPEJ in a statement issued here.
The issue of NOC from the Traffic Department to old schools was highlighted by the various speakers during the 3rd Annual Conference, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Coordination Committee at Teacher Bhawan Gandhi Nagar Jammu in February last wherein Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, KK Sharma and higher officials of School Education Department were present in the function.
“He (Advisor) discussed the issue with Director School Education Jammu and Secretary of JKBOSE and passed the instructions that the school management should furnish affidavit only, duly attested by a 1st Class Magistrate instead of NOC from the IG Traffic,” MPEJ stated.
“The extension period of recognition/affiliation of these old schools should not be less than five years,” MPEJ demanded.
