MP Manhas convenes meeting over BDC elections

JAMMU, Oct 10: Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas accompanied by Ex Minister Sukhnandan Choudhary State Secretary BJP Aseem Gupta and Ex Sarpanch Bhadrore Raghuvir Singh convened a meeting of Panches and Party workers at Chak Lal Din area of Block Marh, here today.
During the meeting threadbare discussions were held regarding the upcoming BDC Polls to produce favourable results for the Party Candidate.
While addressing the people the Member Parliament stressed on the workers to be united and not to fell prey in Anti Party activities or any other propaganda of other Political parties who have already lost their ground in each and every aspect and are trying to create disturbances without any means.
He added that after the abrogation of Article 370 conducting BDC Elections will be the first mega change in terms of strengthening the Panchayats across Jammu & Kashmir.
“Centre has been planning a mega developmental package for Jammu and Kashmir which will change the whole scenario throughout the region reaching out to the people on ground with a transparent and corruption free mechanism, now on panchayats have a mega role to play in development thus one must take these BDC polls seriously,” Manhas added.
During the meeting, a prominent leader Dr Varinder Pal Lakhotra joined Bhartiya Janata Party who was earlier supposed to be front-runner for the Chairman in Block Development Council but now he has assured his full support to the Bhartiya Janata Party’s candidate and also promised to be loyal and devoted towards the Party’s work in near future also.
