UDHAMPUR, Aug 26: A motorcyclist died when his bike skidded off the road at Bikhan Gala near Mand on the National Highway Udhampur.
The deceased has been identified as Karnail Chand (32), son of Kicha, resident of village Bari in Ramnagar. The accident took place when the motorcycle, bearing registration number JK14G-4602, skidded off the road at Bikhan Gala, resulting into serious injuries to the rider. Some locals shifted the injured person to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his critical condition. Later, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Later, the dead body was sent for postmortem. The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members for last rites.
Meanwhile, a woman succumbed to her burn injuries, which she had received two months back. The deceased, identified as Taro Devi, wife of Bansi Lal of village Katti, Tehsil Panchari was undergoing treatment at GMC Hospital Jammu after she suffered burn injuries at her house, two months back. Panchari police has already registered a case in this connection.
