Motorcyclist apprehended with poppy straw, sharp edged weapon

JAMMU, June 13: In continuation to Operation Sanjeevani, police arrested a motorcyclist along with poppy straw, portable weighing machine and a sharp edged weapon from village Bahadur Khan, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, a police team laid a naka at village Bahadur Khan and intercepted a bullet motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BS-5262.
During checking, police recovered 2 kilograms poppy straw, portable weighing machine and a sharp edged weapon from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Sher Khan alias Bubble, son of late Ali Mohammad, a resident of village Bahadur Khan.
A case under FIR Number 87/17 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused at Miran Sahib police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and assisted by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Ravinder Rakhwal made the arrest under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
