More organizations, individuals condole demise of Vajpayee

JAMMU, Aug 17:  More organizations and individuals of repute have expressed their grief and conveyed condolences over the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away yesterday.
Former Sadar-e-Riyasat Dr Karan Singh, in his condolence message, has said that with the passing away of  Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the nation has lost one of its most eminent and lovable leader.
“His long career in politics will always be remembered, including the five years as PM,” said Karan Singh, who knew Vajpayee for six decades and felt the demise as a personal loss.
Former Union Minister Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, whose rebellion against National Conference whip and vote in favour of no confidence motion had led to fall of then Vajpayee-led NDA Government, today described the former PM as a `Man of Peace’ who will be remembered for his statesmanship and vision for peace in the sub-continent.
“I feel sad on the demise of   Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whom I respected as a person who stood firm for peace and cordiality between India and Pakistan,” Soz said adding he had explained to Vajpayee that his vote during no confidence motion was not against him but the leadership of National Conference as he had thought firmly that the NC’s relationship with BJP wouldn’t be acceptable to the people of Kashmir.
For paying tributes to Vajpayee, State BJP organized “Sharadhanjali Sabha” at the party  headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.  Prominent faces of J&K BJP expressed their feelings, love and emotions for the great soul in limited but touching words. Those who expressed their thoughts while speaking their heart out, included BJP State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, former Union Minister Chaman Lal Gupta, former Ministers Sat Sharma, Abdul Ghani Kohli, Bali Bhagat, Satish Sharma, Suresh Jamwal, S Varinderjit Singh and Chander Mohan Sharma. Harinder Gupta, Parmod Kapahi, Dr  D. K  Manyal, Rajeev Charak, Arun Gupta, Dr  Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, Aseem Gupta, Sanjay Baru and others  were amongst the other prominent faces who remembered the departed soul.
A condolence meeting was held at Congress HQ here today to mourn the death of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. PCC chief G A  Mir presided over the meeting while senior functionaries of PCC were present. Floral tributes were paid to the great leader and two minutes silence was also observed to pray for peace to the departed soul.
Former Union Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, in his condolence message, said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the only Prime Minister, who was equally popular in all three regions of J&K which differ on many issues.
MLA and former Minister Rajiv Jasrotia has conveyed his heartfelt condolence on the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and described the departed leader as most respectful among people irrespective of political affiliation. He was speaking in a condolence meeting organized at PRO office Kathua.
BJP MLC Vibodh Gupta has appealed the Government to declare August 16 as National Peace Day in memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who made only friends and no adversary. He said this while paying homage to the former PM  during a condolence assembly by  BJP Rajouri city unit. Those who paid their homage, include Kuldeep Raj Gupta and  Dinesh Sharma
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, under the chairmanship of president Romesh Chander Gupta, held a condolence meeting and observed a two-minute silence in memory of the departed soul.  The meeting was attended by Yash Pal Gupta, Jugal Mahajan, Om Parkash, Sanjay Jandyal, Mukesh Mahajan, Balbir Gupta and others.
A condolence meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Neeraj Anand in the office of Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) at Gandhi Nagar to mourn the death of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Trade leaders, office bearers and prominent citizens paid homage to the departed soul and a two minutes silence was also observed in the memory of Vajpayee, which was followed by chanting of Gayatri Mantra.
In condolence meeting at the J&K High Court Bar Room, Law And Legal Affairs Department of BJP paid glowing tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The programme was attended by a wide galaxy of lawyers drawn from various sections of the society from Jammu as well as surrounding suburbs.
In a condolence meeting at Panthers Party HQ here today, senior vice president JKNPP, P K Ganju expressed deep grief over the demise of former Prime Minister and said that common people in India feel orphaned in the death of humanist leader.
Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Chanakaya Chowk, Parade, Jammu, organised a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of president Ved Parkash Sharma, for paying tributes to Bharat Rattan Atal Bihari Vajpayee and two minutes silence was also observed in respect of the departed soul.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) held a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of its president Subash Shastri here wherein a resolution was passed condoling the death of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.  The meeting felt that the demise of Vajpayee  has marked end of an era in Indian politics.
A Condolence prayer was organized in the premises of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Jammu & Kashmir in which all the staff members, National Youth Volunteers, and members of Youth Club and Mahilla Mandal paid rich tributes to Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) has also expressed its profound grief and shock over the demise of former Prime Minister and a towering leader of Sub Continent, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. While condoling the demise of Vajpayee, president of the Sabha K K Khosa termed him a great statesman, a visionary leader  a towering politician, a thinker ahead of his time and philosopher. He said his demise has created a big void which can never be fulfilled.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) president, Kundan Kashmiri has also expressed his shock and grief over the demise of Vajpayee and termed it a great national loss. He said Vajpyee was tallest of all leaders which India has produced so far and words fell short in recalling his qualities of head and heart.
All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) president, Advocate Ravinder Raina said that India has lost one of its greatest sons in the demise of Vajpayee who had came from a middle class family and proved his mettle with dent of his hard work and dedication. He said there can be no parallel to Atal Ji in the politics as he was a great statesman and a towering leader of the Sub Continent.
Shiban Khybri a free lancer and well known writer has also expressed his shock and grief over demise of Vajpayee and termed it a great loss to the country as a whole. He said leaders like Vajpayee take birth once in centuries and India has become poor by his death.
BJP Kashmir Displaced District member held a condolence meeting and paid tributes to Vajpayee. The meeting was chaired by Chand Ji Bhat, who termed former PM as an inspiration for the generations to come.
BJP District Jammu, Rural held a condolence meeting at Muthi in which glowing tributes were paid to Vajpayee. The meeting was chaired by district president Rural Omi Khajuria in which a large number of party activists participated and recalled the services of Vajpayee to nation and promotion of peace in the Sub Continent. Those who paid tributes included Ex MLA Bharat Bushan,  Suraj Parkash Padha, Mangat Ram Gupta, Mukesh Sharma, Pawan Salathia, Babu Ram, Kuldeep Singh, Ved Parkash, N K Sharma, Rohit Verma and Darshana Kumari.
All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) held a condolence meeting at Jagti today under the leadership of its president, Desh Rattan in which glowing tributes were paid to Vajpayee. All the AMCCC activists participated in the meeting and recalled the services of Vajpayee to nation. Those who paid tributes included M K Kanth, B L Koul, K V Kumar etc.
SMVDU mourned death of former Prime Minister by observing a meeting, which was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr Sanjeev Jain; Registrar Prof V K Bhat, Deans and HoDs, faculty members, staff and students, who offered their condolence to the departed souls and observed a two-minute silence for peace to the departed soul.
Executive members of J&K Private Schools Association, met under the chairmanship of Prof J l Kotwal and deeply condoled the sad demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Association also prayed the Almighty for peace to the departed soul.
Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu paid homage to Atal Bihari Vajpayee by organizing a .
prayer meeting, which was attended by Principal, Coordinators and all the teaching/non-teaching staff as well.
A meeting of JKICS was convened by chairman S S Sodhi to mourn the demise of former Prime Minister. Paying tributes, Mr Sodhi termed Vajpayee as a great statesman and recalled the ace leader’s political and personal persona.
Members of  the Amar Singh Club  have expressed grief at the passing away of former Prime Minister.  Vijay Saraf,  Hony Secretary of the Club,  mourned the demise of  former PM  describing him as a towering personality who would always remain a beacon to inspire the youths of the country to tread the path of values.
Shiksha Niketan, Jeevan Nagar held a condolence assembly for extending  heart felt grief over the death of  Vajpayee. The meet observed a two-minute silence for peace to the departed soul.
National Incredible Literary Mission , J and K,   condoled the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and observed that the departed leader will always be remembered for his progressive vision, peace efforts and strong leadership.
A condolence meeting was organized by the prominent citizens of Udhampur at  Sanatan Dhram Sabha,   which was presided over by MLA  Udhampur Pawan Gupta who along with other paid floral tributes to the departed soul. The condolence meeting was addressed by president Sanatan Dharam Sabha Dr Jogeshwar Gupta, RSS stalwart Ashwani Gupta, MLA Pawan Gupta, Ravi Malgoria, Ashok Dogra, Raj Kumar Bucha and others, who threw light on contribution of Vajpayee to the nation.
A similar condolence meeting was organized at BJP office Udhampur under the presidium of   district president Rakesh Gupta and BJP State vice president Pawan Khajuria who described Vajpayee as inspiration for BJP workers. The meeting was attended by Som Raj Khajuria, Krishan Lal, Subash Gupta, Som  Nath Thanda, Subash, Vikas Pachyala and others.
Lok Vikas Dal Udhampur held a condolence meeting under the leadership of its president Vikram  Singh Slathia for expressing grief over the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and paying tributes to the departed soul.
Jammu Warriors Front chairman Rajesh Gupta described  Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a towering personality who stood for democratic values and demonstrated this commitment in all his acts.
Jammu and Kashmir Students Association Chairman Abrar Ahmad Bhat and deputy chairman Raqif Makhdoomi condoled the sad demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee by terming his death as most unfortunate.
PDP leader from Jammu West,  Puneet Singh Jamwal  said that Vajpayee had led his Government in giving India its best years of peace and prosperity. “In his death the country has lost a statesman, leader, poet, orator and a great human being who gave country many firsts,” he added.
