More organizations condemn terror attack on CRPF jawans

JAMMU, Feb 15: More organizations and individuals have conveyed their anguish over gruesome attack on CRPF convoy, which resulted into martyrdom of 44 jawans at Pulwama in South Kashmir yesterday.
A meeting of Executive Committee of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of PCC president G A Mir, which was attended by AICC Secretary. Sudhir Sharma and other prominent leaders of the party. The Executive Committee adopted a resolution sharing grief, anguish and anger of the Nation over the heavy loss of lives on the deadliest terror attack on CRPF convoy yesterday.
The meeting also appeals to the people to express their anger and anguish unitedly in a peaceful and non-violent manner and maintain communal harmony at all costs to defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy. The meeting decided to defer all scheduled functions of the party in the State including the provincial level convention on February 17 for a period of one week as a mark of respect to the martyrs.
Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting, included Tara Chand, Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, R S Chibb, Mohd Sharief Niaz, Balwan Singh, Usman Majeed Shabir Khan, Ch Mohd Akram, Viqar Rasool Wani, Manmohan Singh, Suman Bhagat, Rajnish Sharma, Surinder Singh Channi, Manjeet Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Indu Pawar, Hari Singh Chibb, Ch Gharu Ram, Ashok Sharma, Ch Shah Mohd, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma and Raman Matto.
Former Sadar-e-Riyasat Dr Karan Singh said that entire nation was in mourning over the terror attack on CRPF and consequent tragic loss of lives. “Our hearts go out to the next of kin of those who have been martyred and our prayers for the swift recovery of those injured,” he said in a statement today.
He also stressed that at a sensitive juncture like this, we must remain calm and united in the in the assurance that the government and our armed forces will take appropriate retaliatory measures. “All all costs, we must maintain communal harmony, especially in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
Condemning the attack, Paviter Singh (Retd Judge), president, Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, said that such attacks are required to be answered with iron hands and all those responsible directly or indirectly need to be brought to book. He also condemned those who are providing the local support to the militants for executing such cowardly acts. He appealed the Biradari members to financially support the bereaved families of the martyrs.
Rajput Sabha general secretary Bishan Singh also condemned the attack and appealed the PM to take stringent action against those involved in the incident so that moral of the security forces remain high.
Paying floral tributes to the 44 CRPF martyrs and expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, IkkJutt Jammu leaders today said that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi really wished to defeat jihad in Kashmir, he has to withdraw security cover to all these separatists and half separatists, abandon the policy of giving financial and employment packages to Kashmir and give a free hand to security forces involved in anti-insurgency operations.
Members of Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan assembled at the party office here today and paid homage to the CRPF martyrs. Ch Lal Singh, while paying his tribute to the martyrs, urged the general public to maintain the peace and communal harmony. Dr Hari Dutt Shishu, general secretary, appealed to the youth and the student community to be vigilant and cautious of the motives of the enemies both within and outside the country. Kanta Andotra, Ex MLA, expressed grief and shock over the tragedy.
Members of Dogra Sadar Sabha has demanded a befitting reply to Pakistan and also stressed for necessity of crushing the traitors and anti-national terror/Pakistan supporters within the State. During a meeting to pay respect to the CRPF martyrs, DSS president Th Gulchain Singh Charak exhorted the politicians to put aside the political rivalries and rise above regional interests and stand with the nation as one entity and give unconditional support to troops and solidarity with the Governments.
To mourn the sacrifice of CRPF personnel, a condolence meet was held today under the chairmanship of Director Health Services Jammu. Sushil Sudan, president Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, while speaking on the martyrdom of 44 CRPF men, strongly condemned the cowardly act of Kashmir based militants. Director Health Services, Dr Samir Mattoo, in his address, conveyed heartfelt condolence and sympathy to the bereaved families
Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh strongly condemned the heinous terror attack on CRPF convoy and said that the country must respect and appreciate the role of the security forces in a highly charged and challenging environment in Kashmir valley. The entire nation stands behind our security forces and the Government of India against terrorism he said and added that the country was is waiting for a befitting reply to those responsible for this cowardly attack. He also appealed to the public in Jammu to maintain communal harmony.
Sajad Gani Lone, chairman of People’s Conference, , said that act of bravery in the aftermath of the savage attack on CRPF personnel would be to give a united response as opposed to falling into the trap of the perpetrators of this attack of incitement against people of a particular province. Terming yesterdays attack as an attempt to disrupt peace & communal harmony of J&K, he made a passionate appeal to the people and civil society of Jammu for upholding the tenets of tolerance and brotherhood .
Peoples Conference (PC) senior leader and ex-minister Abdul Gani Vakil strongly condemned the attack and appealed people to maintain peace and communal harmony in the best interests of State and the nation. He said it is imperative to bring the perpetrators of this act of senseless violence to justice.
Y V Sharma, former president of CCI Jammu and State president of All India Professionals’ Congress, has condemned the terror attack and expressed heartfelt sympathies with the families of the martyrs. He demanded that the government must take this incident very seriously and do utmost to avoid such incidents in future.
The Jammu University fraternity has condemned the cowardly act of terrorists resulting into the martyrdom of CRPF personnel. The Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA), Jammu University Non-Teaching Employees Union (JUNTEU), Jammu University Officers Welfare Association (JUOWA) and Jammu University Non-Gazetted Employees Union (JUNGEU) said that every citizen of this Nation was with the families of martyr soldiers in this hour of grief.
SKUAST-Teachers Association Jammu also held a meeting to condemn the attack and express sympathies with the families of the CRPF martyrs. SKUAST-TAJ president Vikas Sharma and general secretary Vivak Arya appealed Government of India to crush terrorism with Iron hand for restoration of peace in J&K.
Public Opinion Forum, led by its chairman Parveen Sharma and general secretary Gopal Parthasarthy, prayed for peace to the CRPF martyrs and courage to their family members. The POF also stressed for giving Pakistan a befitting reply and free hand to the security forces for wiping out terrorism from the State.
Former Minister and senior BJP leader from Kalakote, Abdul Gani Kohli has condemned the cowardice act of terrorists and extended heartfelt condolence to the families of the CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the ghastly attack. “My heart and thoughts are with families of martyrs,” he said.
President of the Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Services League (JKESL and Ex MLC, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, has called for exemplary punitive action against the perpetrators of repeated acts of terrorism on India soil.
Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee, in an emergency meeting, strongly condemned the attack on CRPF jawans and observed 2- minute silence in memory of martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of their country. Gurdev Singh, president of the committee, said that time has come to teach Pakistan an everlasting lesson.
NDP president Ravi Bakshi has strongly condemned the terror attack and expressed heartfelt condolence on the martyrdom of CRPP personnel. He appealed the Prime Minister to give a befitting reply to Pakistan and ensure that terrorism is wiped out from J&K.
Inder Mohinder Tar Singh, State president of Loktantrik Janata Dal, has condemned the terror attack and appealed the general masses to maintain communal harmony as any provocation would only help the enemy. He also appealed the Governor to ensure peace in J&K.
JD(U) leader Mohini Mohan convened a condolence meeting at Udhampur where two-minutes silence was observed to pay respect to the martyr CRPF jawans. The meet also conveyed sympathy and solidarity with bereaved families of the martyrs.
MLC Ramesh Arora and ex-MLA Bharat Gandhi, while condemning the attack on CRPF convoy, said it is the time to teach lesson to terrorists and Pakistan as this incident has shaken the mind and soul of every individual. They said whole country stands with martyrs and their families in this hour of grief.
Veteran Congress leaders Gurmukh Singh (ex-minister) and Dharmpal Sharma (Ex-MP) strongly condemned the attack on CRPF convoy. In a statement issued today both the leaders expressed grief and anguish over the loss of precious lives in the deadly terror attack, describing the incident as highly condemnable and painful. They conveyed deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for their courage to bear these irreparable losses.
J&K Pradesh Youth Congress condemned terror attack on CRPF personnel at Awantipora in Kashmir and demanded strict action against those involved in this inhumane and intolerable act. Expressing shock over the killing of CRPF personnel, the PYC leaders including secretaries and general secretaries said this bloodshed is sponsored by the enemy across the border which needs befitting reply. They also paid tributes to the martyrs and expressed their sympathies with their kith and kin.
Condemned the yesterday’s terror attack in Kashmir Valley, National Panthers Party’ supremo, Prof Bhim Singh, said this is high time that Parliament of India should take a final and conclusive decision to integrate entire State of J&K with the Union of India as was constitutionally and in accordance with the Instrument of Accession/Act of British Parliament was signed by the then Ruler of J&K. He called on all youth who have taken arms to shun violence, throw away the weapons and join democratic process to serve the people.
Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) organized a candle peace march procession this evening to show solidarity with families of CRFP personnel martyred in Pulwama attack. Raising slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Pakistan Murdabad” thousands of people from different walks of life participated in the candle light march from Leh gate to Chowkhang Vihara. LBA president, Tsewang Thinles, Hill Council Chairman Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and former Minister Chering Dorje expressed their sympathies with the bereaved families and expressed hope that Government will give befitting reply to the terrorists.
While condemning the killing of CRPF Jawans in Puwlama fidayeen attack, District Congress Committee (DCC), Srinagar president Irfan Naqib today said that violence and killings can never be solution to any problem. Expressing his condolences to the families of the slain CRPF soldiers, he said, the country must stand united in this moment of grief and not give any chances to those elements who want to polarize the communities for vote-bank politics.
J&K unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), while condemned the attack, said it is very sad that despite an advance intelligence output, needed alert was not taken care of in a situation where huge CRPF vehicles convoy was on its way after 7-day long national highway closure. “Nation hopes that Modi Govt will place the enquiry related facts behind this unfortunate incident at the earliest,” the statement added.
A protest demonstration was organized by Congress leader Sumeet Magotra in Udhampur district to express anger on killing of CRPF personnel in Pulwama attack. The protestors took out protest march through the streets of Udhampur town and raised slogans against Pakistan. Protestors also blocked Dhar Road for several hours to show their resentment and burnt the effigy of Pakistan.
Condemning the attack, Ashok Sharma, former legislator and senior Congress leader demanded declaration of Pakistan as terrorist Country by the United Nations. He prayed for peace to the departed souls and courage to their families to face this tragedy and speedy recovery of those injured.
The student wing of Nationalist Communist Party (NCP), while condemning the attack, demanded resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh, stating that Centre has failed to provide a stable Government in J&K. Expressing solidarity with grief stricken families of martyrs, Rishi Kaul Kilam, National Executive Council member of Nationalist Student Congress (NSC), termed the attack as an inhumane act and led a protest in Jammu against the same.
Condemning the Pulwama attack, State unit president of Janta Dal Secular, Mast Nath Yogi, expressed grief over killings of CRPF personnel and paid condolences to the bereaved families. He asked the Government to teach a lesson to the militants so that they don’t raise their heads again.
Ex-Servicemen Cell of Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan, while condemning this gruesome incident, shared the grief of the bereaved families and prayed the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed souls and strength & fortitude to the bereaved families to bear such irreparable loss of their near and dear ones. They also prayed for speedy recovery to the wounded brave soldiers. Tanda Tiger Force, the army porters of Kargil War 1999, led by its organizer, K P Singh, also paid solemn tribute to the departed souls stating that the martyrs were on duty in J&K for our security.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Romesh Chander Gupta, president of the Sabha, expressed shock and grief over the cowardly act of terrorists and paid heartfeld condolences to the bereaved families of the brave soldiers.
J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), condemned the dastardly terrorist attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama district. A large number of Chartered Accountants assembled at branch premises, observed two minutes silence and prayed for the departed souls of martyred soldiers. Later on, the members held a peaceful protest march from Canal road (Near IIIM Jammu) towards Bikram Chowk.
Staff and Management of Jammu Divisional Office of New India Assurance Company Limited (NIAC) in its meeting strongly condemned the gruesome attack. In the condolence meet chaired by Dr Daleep Pandita, Senior Divisional Manager of NIAC, two minute silence was observed by all the participants. Entire team of NIAC expressed condolences to all bereaved.
Swarn Vihar Welfare Committee under the chairmanship of its president, SN Raina condemned the ghastly terrorist attack on CRPF convoy near Pulwama. “We express our grief and sorrow over the killing of CRPF Jawans. Our sympathies are with the bereaved families,” Raina said.
Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) while condoling the death of CRPF Jawans, expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. The JWAM president, Sunil Dimple demanded NIA and CBI investigation into the fidayeen attack. The JWAM activists also staged a protest on Janipur Road at New plot and burnt Pakistan effigies and flags.
Madan Lal Abrol, president, State Pensioners’ Association, condemned the Pulwama attack and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families.
In a meeting held today, Ahmadiyya Muslim community Jammu community condemned the killings and observed two minutes silence for peace of departed souls. The meeting appealed to maintain peace and harmony and in the wake of attack, decided to cancel the Peace Symposium scheduled to be held on February 17, at Jammu Club.
President, Force Green Students wing JKPA, Raqif Makhdoomi, while expressing grief on the Pulwama attack said, “Every Kashmiri is pained on this incident and everyone has condemned the attack. While requesting for peace, he said “Jammu is unfortunately on boil as this reaction by the people of Jammu is unacceptable and the way they are behaving is unacceptable”. There is no need of violence at this point of time. It’s time for peace and to stand with those who have lost their loved ones, he added.
BJP, MLC, Choudhary Vikram Randhawa has strongly condemned the yesterday’s Fidayeen attack on CRPF convoy in which 44 CRPF personnel attained martyrdom. In a statement Randhawa demanded stern action against terrorists and Pakistan which is the breeding force of terrorist activities. He said entire nation is looking towards Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and his leadership to bring the State out of present mess.
Another BJP MLC, Vivodh Gupta, while strongly condemning the Fidayeen attack said people of Poonch and Rajouri districts are up in arms against terrorism which has eaten up the vitals of the society in last 30 years. Gupta said that people in the town border districts not only displayed a strong sense of secularism by observing a total bandh today but also showed the entire world that the forces trying to create a wedge between different communities will never succeed in their vicious designs.
Vishaw Kashmiri Pandit Samaj convener, Kiran Wattal while condemning the ghastly act of terrorists in Pulwama district of Kashmir Valley yesterday demanded a strong action against the terrorism and Pakistan. He said that nation can no longer tolerate such wickedness now. He demanded strengthening of nationalist forces in the State and withdrawal of security to Hurriyat and other separatist leaders.
Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) chief, Advocate M L Thusoo and its convener, P L Koul Budgami has also expressed their profound shock and grief over the attack on CRPF jawans by Fidayeen in Kashmir and said that the sacrifices of 44 brave soldiers of CRPF will not go waste. They said it would be a turning point in the Kashmir situation as nation has resolved to chase the terror upto finish. The KHC leaders urged the Union Government to take decisive action against the anti India forces within country and also Pakistan the harbourer of terrorism.
Shiban Khybri a well known writer and social activist has also strongly condemned the Fidayeen attack on CRPF jawans in Kashmir yesterday and demanded a strong action against terrorism. He said the Hurriyat is the support base to terrorists within while Pakistan is providing arms and ammunition to them. Till the terror camps within Pakistan are not smashed and Hurriyat leaders put behind the bars, the situation will remain as it is. The Government instead of talking should act decisively against terror, he added.
Sampooran Kashmiri Sangathan (SKS) leaders, Anoop Koul, Rakesh Koul and Bharat Kachroo while strongly condemn the terror attack said that nothing short of decisive action will be acceptable to Kashmiri uprooted community now. Expressing total solidarity with security forces the KVS leaders asked PM Modi that it is high time to act against Pak and terrorists.
Magam Bangil Sabha, president, Raj Nath Raina has also strongly condemned the Fidayeen attack on CRPF convoy and said that people have now lost the patience and Government should go for total offensive against terror and chase the terrorists upto finish.
Shree Shree Jagat Amba Sharika Chakreshwar Sanstha has expressed anguish and grief over the cowardly act of terrorists that took place in Pulwama yesterday in which 40 brave soldiers attained martyrdom. The members observed two minutes silence in memory of brave soldiers and demanded appropriate action against terror.
Durga Nagar Welfare Committee, chief Roshan Lal Raina has also strongly condemned the terror attack on CRPF convoy and demanded that Government should take a decisive action against the terrorists and weed it out from soil of Kashmir.
Arya Pratindhi Sabha (APS) in an emergency meeting here, today under the presidentship of Arun Choudhary in which rich tributes were paid to 44 CRPF personnel who laid down their lives for country in Pulwama district of Kashmri Valley yesterday.
A tearful homage was paid to the martyrs and prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the most revered souls. Hawan was also performed to salute their martyrdom and full support was pledged at this time of adversity to the families of departed souls. The vice president, general secretary, treasurer and various other members of Arya Samaj of J&K attended the condolence meeting.
