JAMMU, June 9: More condemnation poured in over killing of Sarpanch Ajay Pandita by the militants yesterday in district Anantnag.
Condemning the killing of Sarpanch Ajay Pandita during a press conference, Shafiq Mir, Chairman of All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) said that Pandita was the 19th Panchayat member who has been killed in violence against Sarpanches. Seeking high-level probe over the killing of a member of the Panchayat Conference, Mir said that this is high time for the BJP Government at the Centre to step in to save the precious lives of the innocent 33,000 elected representatives. Arun Sharma, Provincial President AJKPC, Gurdeep Saini General Secretary, Surjit Singh Working President District Jammu, Tarsem Kumar BDC Chairman RS Pura and Surinder Kumar BDC Chairman Marh were also present during the press conference.
