“The decision (to demonetise Rs 500/1000 currency notes) is very important and at times such inputs have been received that to fund and fuel terrorism, money flow came from unknown sources and some people had to say that in Pakistan they don’t publish as much of their own currency as much they publish Indian currency,” Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a RSS function here today.
On reports that people were facing hardships while standing in long queues outside ATMs and banks to withdraw the money, Singh said that people of the country have welcomed the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite facing little hardships.
“I don’t feel there is anything like this, the countrymen are fully cooperating, and the people who are standing in long queues say that though they face little hardships but they want to contribute as they are satisfied with the decision taken by the prime minister as they are convinced that the decision has been taken in the larger interest of the country and its economy,” Singh said.
