NEW DELHI, Mar 22: India’s largest producer of manganese MOIL clocked a production of 7.45 lakh tonnes during the first nine months of the fiscal.
“During financial year 2015-16, the production of manganese ore was 7.45 lakh tonnes up to the month of December,” Steel Ministry said today.
The public sector undertaking achieved a total income of Rs 612.76 crore up to December and earned a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 151.61 crore during the same period, it added.
Yesterday, the mini-ratna firm presented a cheque of Rs 36.07 crore as interim dividend to the government.
MOIL (formerly Manganese Ore India Ltd) had declared an interim dividend of Rs 3 per share for the 2015-16 fiscal.
Last week, the state-run firm had said Madhya Pradesh government granted mining lease of over 48.97 hectares in Balaghat district.
At present, MOIL operates 10 mines, 6 in Nagpur and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra and four in Balaghat district of MP.
MOIL’s annual production is around 1,093,363 tonnes.
