MENDHAR, Oct 19: The villagers of Mohra Kallar in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district today staged a protest demonstration against the failure of the PDD authorities to install the new transformer in the area as the old one has developed a sang over a fortnight back.
The protestors shouting slogans against the PDD alleged that the transformer had developed a snag over two weeks back and their pleas to the PDD authorities to replace it by a new one have failed to yield results till date forcing them to come to streets.
The protestors said that people are facing many hardships due to complete blackout in area for a fortnight now and no one at the helm of affairs is ready to listen to their woes. The protestors warned that in case the transformer was not replaced immediately they will intensify the agitation.
