Srinagar, Feb 12: Police today said that they have busted a militant module and arrested five associates of militants in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Acting on a specific information, Budgam police arrested 5 militant associates and seized arms and ammunition and other incriminating material from their possession.
They have been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Wani, Nasir Ahmad Wani, Bilal Ahmad Khan, Irfan Ahmad Pathan, residents of Gundipora, Beerwah and Ali Mohd Bhat, resident of Warihama, Beerwah.
Police said that on preliminary enquiry it was found that these militant associates were affiliated with ISJK and involved in providing shelter and logistic support to militants.
Police said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of law in PS Beerwah and have taken up investigation.
