Modifications in SRO partial victory of youth, entire opposition: Congress

JAMMU, June 15: Reacting to the withdrawal of the most unjust and exploitative provision of the previous PDP-BJP Government SRO 202 of 2015, JKPCC has termed it partial victory of the youth and the entire opposition, who were unanimous in this cause.
JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the Government has finally accepted that the SRO brought about by the previous PDP-BJP Government was totally unjust and exploitative of the rights of youth but it took five years to the BJP to acknowledge it.
The youth had to come on roads time again and the entire opposition was unanimous against the arbitrary provisions which forced government to succumb, he added.
However it would not have happened without public pressure as the Government just two weeks ago had brought about this provision again in the new recruitment rules and incorporated it, which clearly demonstrated that power of youth and united opposition has great strength.
Sharma termed it partial victory as the entire SRO should be declared as null and void abinitio from the day it was enforced and the arearers of full salary of all recruits should be released from the date of appointment of all such appointees under SRO 202.
Sharma said that the provision of probation of two years for any fresh appointees already existed in the service rules but it did not provide for deduction of salary or payment of only basic pay and grade. So release all pending components of the salary to already appointed, JKPCC said.
