JAMMU, June 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has profusely welcomed the historic decision of the Administrative Council headed by the LG in which it has decided to do away with SRO 202 for fresh appointments (10000 newly announced vacancies under rapid recruitment process) and reduce the probation period of old appointees from 5 to 2 years.
In a statement issued here today Ravinder Raina, president JK UT BJP termed the decision as a big leap towards employee welfare.
Taking the opposition to task Brig (retd) Veteran Anil Gupta, spokesperson of the party said that unlike them BJP believes in walking the talk. BJP has always worked for the betterment of the youth and cared for the employees. It may be recalled that Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister in PMO while addressing the inaugural ceremony event of CAT Jammu had said that SRO-202 was not compatible with the new scheme of things and therefore, needs to be revisited. He also cautioned the opposition to avoid politics on the issue since it involved the future of our youth. However, the opposition kept playing politics by exploiting the sentiments of the youth through provocative statements regretted Brig Gupta.
BJP leadership has been working since long for the review of SRO-202. Many deputations led by the party president, Ravinder Raina, Ashok Kaul, general secretary (org) had met the LG and other officials in connection with the same. Unlike the opposition which made only hollow noises BJP had promised the youth that the SRO would be reviewed and was working diligently towards that. It had advised the youth to have patience and exercise restraint. BJP is happy to inform the youth that it has fulfilled its promise and once again assured them that the only party on which they could depend on and the party that cares for their sentiments and needs is the BJP. “BJP requested the youth and also cautioned them to not to get carried away by the gullible propaganda of the opposition and their sweet talk which is totally hollow and meant only to gain media lime light,” stated Brig Gupta.
Since the opposition had no issue to raise, it launched a hostile campaign against the digital Jan Samvad Rally held by BJP on Sunday which among others was addressed by the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh. The opposition needs to know that it was the Modi Government which after coming to power in 2014 had begun the tradition of presenting to the nation its annual report card by reaching to the people through public meetings held across the length and breadth of the country, Brig Gupta said.
