3 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU, June 15: Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered heroin and poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint team from Gangyal Police Station and Greater Kailash Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK02W-1063.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams heroin from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Manzoor Ahmed alias Kaka, son of Abdul Gani of Camp, Gol Gujral, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 83/2020 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by Incharge Police Post Greater Kailash SI Rohit Gandhi made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Ram Singh, SP South Deepak Digra and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
Meanwhile, cops and locals destroyed bhang cultivation at villages Kumate and Nangal in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramban.
Around 10 kilometers of area were cleared from bhang cultivation by SHO Ramban Inspector Sunil Sharma under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Rajinder Singh Chib, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
However, a team from Udhampur Police Station led by SHO Inspector Vijay Choudhary arrested two drug peddlers along with 42 kilograms of poppy straw and 12 grams heroin.
The arrested persons were identified as Yaspal Singh, son of Rasham Singh of Dharamkot Punjab and Suresh Kumar alias Sheeshu, son of Jagdev Kumar of Shiv Nagar, District Udhampur.
Two cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
