NEW DELHI : Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar got birthday greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi as she turned 87 today.
The Prime Minister wished a long and healthy life to the singing legend, who has mesmerising millions across the country and the world through her melodious voice.
”Spoke to Lata Didi & conveyed birthday greetings to her. I pray for her long and healthy life. @mangeshkarlata,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet. Mageshkar, whose career in Bollywood spans over seven decades is only the second vocalist after Ms Subhlaxmi who has been bestowed the country’s highest civilian honour ‘Barat Ratna.’ (AGENCIES)
