JAMMU, June 27: Farmers have been empowered, while their economic conditions have become better and their production has increased as Narendra Modi led Union Government took the effective steps for their empowerment, said Ravinder Raina, J&K BJP president while addressing a Virtual rally organised by Party’s Kissan Morcha here, today.
The rally was chaired by Ravinder Raina and former Minister, Sukhnandan Kumar, Kissan Morcha Prabhari, Nand Kishore and BJP Kissan Morcha president, Omi Khajuria also addressed it.
BJP president Ravinder Raina, said that Modi Government formed special welfare schemes and policies to benefit the farmers. He said that the previous Government at the Centre as well as in the erstwhile J&K State did absolutely nothing concrete to meet the aspirations and the needs of farmers. He lauded the dedicated work by the Kissan Morcha activists for serving the needy. He mentioned that the adequate compensation was paid to the farmers of the region, by the efforts of BJP leaders.
Raina mentioned the projects like Shahpur Kandi, Ujh Multipurpose Project and other projects which will benefit the farmers of the region. He said that soon an irrigation canal from Ravi river which is under process will provide water for agriculture purpose in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu & Kashmir UT. He lamented that previous Governments didn’t care to develop a single canal to boost the irrigation system in the region. He also mentioned that the local crops like Rajama, Guchiyan, Anardana and many other local specialties which will be developed now.
Sukhanandan Choudhary said that farmers form a fleet of special Corona warriors who did excellent work during the hard period to meet the basic needs of all the time, i.e. food. He said that the farmers need an applause from all for doing their work with dedication. He spoke about the reforms taken for the welfare of the farmers and the irrigation needs.
Nand Kishore told about various welfare schemes for the farmers involved in various agriculture activities. He also talked about the various activities of the BJP Kissan Morcha.
Omi Khajuria apprised the party leadership that the Kissan Morcha leaders led the fight with Corona Pandemic from the front. He said that the Kissan Morcha activists helped the needy farmers and general masses while following all the COVID- 19 guidelines.
BJP Kissan Morcha general secretary, Rohit Verma, Raman Singh, Dr. Yog Dutt Sharma, media secretary Vijay Sharma, Luv Anand were also present on the occasion.
