‘Modi Govt responsible for unprecedented price rise’

KATHUA, Apr 21:  Former MLA Billawar and  Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has accused Modi-led BJP Government  over the further  rise in the prices of essential commodities and daily consumable items instead to check and control the unprecedented price rise.
“It is very unfortunate that Rs 50 per  kg rise in pulses price and Rs 15 per  kg hike  in sugar price  has become unbearable burden  for the comman man. The people were  expecting a steep decline in the prices of essential commodity in Modi Raj  but nearly two years are going to be completed by them the good days are no more visible till today,” Dr Sharma said in a press statement here.
He strongly criticized  BJP leadership in J&K for its failures to raise the issue of  imposing  12.5% tax on Yatris of Shri Mata Vaisno Devi Ji  during recent visit of Prime Minister Modi in Katra on  April 19, which was gifted by the BJP-PDP Government in State to the Yatris of  Mata Vaishno Devi.
Mr  Modi  and other BJP leaders always accused the UPA Government over price rise during Parliament election and other public meetings but BJP and its leadership is completely  silent over this unprecedented price rise by increasing Excise Duty. Instead to cut, the Excise Duty already charged during the regime of UPA Government has been increased.  Mr Modi did not miss any single occasion to make comment  or joke over UPA Government  led by Dr  Manmohan Singh. Now, why he and his team is not fulfilling the promises made to the  people of the country even after a lapse of almost two years.
He said BJP leadership is trying to create an atmosphere of communal,  decisive and mistrust among the masses to divert their attention from the burning issues of price rise, unemployment, drought like situation in different States.
