Modi Govt on a self-reliant mode: Anuarg Thakur

HAMIRPUR, Feb 27: Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur on Saturday that the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on self-reliant India campaign mission mode and its positive results had started coming.
While addressing a training camp of the BJP workers at Sujanpurtira, he appealed to the workers to take the achievements of the Modi government to the people and tell them what they have achieved from it.
He said that in order to make India a $5 trillion economy and make the country self-sufficient, the Modi Government had done more reforms since 1991.
In all those areas of coal, mineral, power, defense sector, civil aviation, social infra project, space and atomic energy, we have done such major reforms which will write the promise of a strong, capable and prosperous India in future.
Mr Thakur claimed that the biggest achievement of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was good Governance and corruption-free Government.
“The Modi Government has done the task of clearing the brokers – middlemen who used to speak in the power corridors from Delhi to Shimla,” he said.
He said that in controlling inflation, due to which the inflation rate was more than 12 per cent during the UPA regime, whereas the inflation rate is only 4 per cent during the NDA regime.
The UPA’s emphasis was on imports, while our policies are dedicated to promoting exports rather than exporting goods from foreign countries.
Speaking about the Indian budget, he said , “We have budgeted this time to increase new opportunities for development, new openings for our youth, a new high level for human resources, to develop new areas for infrastructure, technology.
Tried the approach of moving towards and bringing new reforms in this budget.”
Mr Thakur further said, “We have cleared the way for the credit target of agriculture to 16 lakh crores. Provision of 65,000 crores has been made in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi for the farmers.
The Modi Government transferred nearly three times the amount from the UPA Government to the farmers’ accounts.
Talking about facilities to the women folk, he said, “The Modi Government is firmly committed to women’s empowerment and as a result we have taken special care of women in the budget 2021-22.
A budget of Rs 28,600 crore has been kept for specific schemes being run for women. An allocation of Rs 35,600 crore has been made for the Nutritional Plan for the year 2020-2021. (UNI)
