JAMMU, Nov 25: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta kick-started blacktopping work of roads in Ward No 68 here, today.
The work was started in the presence of district president, Vinay Gupta and Corporator Anil Kumar.
In his address, Kavinder Gupta said that the execution of works which had got stalled to a great extent due to the ongoing pandemic have now been initiated and all the roads pending will be macadamized in a phased manner and there will be no compromise with quality of work. He asserted that special care will be taken in its execution of different works so that the quality can be maintained and people don’t have to suffer in the future.
The senior BJP leader said that after the completion of current macadamization of the roads in Ward No: 68, the life of the roads is also going to increase thus leaving less scope for dilapidation. He said due to the relentless efforts of the concerned Corporator Anil Kumar, this Ward will definitely get transformed into a Model Ward and providing good roads is the first step towards that direction. He asserted that before 2014, all the lanes of the Ward were in deplorable condition but soon after coming of BJP regime in J&K during 2014 all the roads of Ward No 68 were macadamized.
Kavinder said that BJP and Central Government led by Narendra Modi stand fully committed for the development of Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that the unprecedented overall development of J&K witnessed today is the result of this sincere commitment of BJP led Government at the Centre for the progress and prosperity of this sensitive Union Territory and its people.
Taking note of all the genuine demands, Kavinder assured to get their grievances redressed at the earliest. He asserted that it is his duty to fight and work for the public of his constituency.
He directed the concerned department to complete the work in time and also take care that traffic doesn’t get interrupted due to the work as ultimately the people suffer on account of such discrepancies. He added that more works are in the pipeline and shall be taken up soon in the near future.
